Cherry Hill

Yesterday we had some fUn in the SuN! :) My mom got some free tickets to Cherry Hill, so we decided to try it out! We asked Katie, Jackson, Elise and Aiva to come with! We had a lot of fun, it is a great waterpark for little kids. Even with all the slides, water and kids, Bentley still wanted to push around the stroller I brought him in..? I had to convince him (after a few temper tantrums) that he wAnTeD to play in the water! For some reason, he has been so obsessed with pushing around that stroller eVeRyWhEre, and when it is time to put it away..bring on the screaming and tears.. He is such a strong willed little guy..He is definitly teaching me to have patience! Something I wasn't blessed with! Despite his little outburts, we had a GrEaT time in the water! It is so rewarding to watch your little one have fun :) I think Katie, Elise and I had the most fun though, taking turns going down the big tube slide! You get drenched, it was awesome! I forgot how much I LOVE waterparks! I think I need to go with JUST friends..and NO kids for once! :) A waterpark trip without a fussy 2 year old?! Do those exist? I should find out :)

Saturday, July 12th...

So Saturday morning, we all woke up with not a whole lot on our agenda (for once!) So we decided to round up some of the fam for a movie! :) We went and saw "Journey to the Center of the Earth" IN 3D! It was pretty entertaining and a good movie for the kids! If you see this movie, you HAVE to see it in 3D at the Megaplex! Otherwise...maybe not worth it.. :)

It was the last weekend that Veva was going to be here because they take the big move to AZ on Friday. :( So after the movie, Dallin's mom, Veva and I did some sweet pedicures for each other! :) Good times..we hope to see you sOon Veva!!

I had to steal this pic from Veva's blog..so thanks Vev :)

It's a love/hate thing...

So my mom and I decided to go see a few of the Parade of Homes; which I love because it is so fun to see all the awesome new ideas they put in homes..but then on the other hand..can we say...JeAlOuS? :) Ok..I know I am bad..but I can't help but feel a LiTtLe jealous when I walk through these MaNsIoNs... AnD think of Dallin's comment he said the other day when we were watching some show about "Amazing Waterfront Homes" He says jokingly, "Who says money can't buy happiness?!" Haha :) But in all reality..WhO needs 11,000 sq. ft??

I could handle this amazing shower though..the picture doesn't do it justice. The shower is bigger than my WhOlE bathroom. The baby bump is DeFinItLY starting to show!..

Then we headed up to Eden to see a pretty cool house, and ended up finding a pretty cool spot to take a few pictures.

Make a WiSh.. :)

Fly Fishing!

So Dallin had this past week off and he took me fly fishing! Last year, he got me everything I need to be a flyfisherWOMAN. :) Dallin LOVES flyfishing and asked if I wanted to try it..I said "Sure" so what does he do?..He goes out and buys EVERYTHING for me! I'm thinking.."umm..what if I don't like this???..." He took me a couple times last year, but I never caught anything.. This was my first time this year and casting seems to come really natural for me. Dallin says that isn't normal and casting takes a long time to perfect..so I am pretty happy! I caught my first fish! and a couple more after that!..I had a really, really big one on, but I got so excited that I pulled the line tight and he got off..I learned that your suppose to let them play with it and wear the fish out before you can reel it in...oops.. Bentley hung out with daddy in a kid backpack..It was pretty fun for him, he really liked to see the fish up close and personal and watch them swim back into the water. It was a really fun family outing! I am glad that Dallin and I have a hobby to do together. :)

Dallin took this short little clip on his phone without me knowing..but it is the only "picture" of our fishing trip..I had dead batteries in my camera. :(

Family Pictures

Brooke posted some of her fav family pics she took of us on her blog and I got permission to post a few on mine. I am SO proud of these! I couldn't be more happy with them. :) Thank you Brooke!

(P.s..It's not my garment showing, it's a white shade shirt:)

Maybe he was trying to flirt with Brook by giving her a flower :) Who wouldn't flirt with her?! ;)

Bentley is saying, "eewww....." :)

Happy Anniversary to us! :)

Dallin and I had our ThReE year anniversary yesterday! (June 24th) Crazy, huh?! Dallin got to go to work :( and I got to go to Laguna Beach with the Benster, Cam and her kids. :) It was way fun! Most the time we just floated around the lazy river with Benny on my lap. Who knew he would sit there on my lap for two hours and actually enjoy it?! It was great and very relaxing. Then we spent a little bit of time at the kid area with the slides. I decided to go down the slide with Bentley, when we hit the bottom, he was giggling and I was about to cry...last Saturday, when we took our family pics, I was getting ready in a hurry, we had to leave at 7:15! Whoo..that's early..anyways..We were getting ready to leave and I slipped on my new, REALLY TALL wedge shoes and started running down the stairs (without buckling them) So of course, I slipped and fell RIGHT on my tail bone!! Oh my gosh, it hurt so bad and STILL does!!! I really think I did something to it, but I hear there is nothing they can do anyways..just gotta stick it out.. and stay away from the those SLIDES! After a few hours at Laguna Beach, we loaded up and headed home. When Dallin got home we went to Outback and had some yummy dinner and then headed to the Tinseltown to see Iron Man! It was REALLY GOOD!! It was a much needed ALONE date for the both of us. :) I LOVE YOU DALLIN, HAPPY THREE YEAR ANNIVERSARY!!

Saturday, June 21st - FAMILY PICTURES!

We decided to get some family pictures done! Through the line of friends, I found Brooke Kinsey. The prettiest and BEST photographer there is. She was so good and VERY patient with us and our naughty little boy. She just posted this sneak preview of our shoot on her Blog, so I thought I would share it with all you. Isn't he cute?! I hope she can make Dallin and I look that good! Thanks Brooke!

Friday, June 20th

We busted out the Wal-Mart kiddie pool today that was stored in the garage after giving us plenty of use last summer! I watch my good friend, Elise's baby, Aiva on Friday's, so she was with us too. Boy, did we have fun. Blowing it up was a challenge though. Dallin always did it last year with his air compressor that I have no idea how to run. That thing needs more air that you'd think! So after an intense instructional conversation with Dallin and a few video messages over our phones, I figured it out!..Only to find that the top ring had been popped..but luckily, there was no other holes and still functions just fine. Maybe it's time to spring for an upgrade anyways..haha..

Isn't Summer great?!

SOME BABY NEWS...

I also had my Dr. appt. today to check on the baby and find out what it is!! Well..I actually cheated on that..On the night my dad passed away, I had a strong feeling that I wanted to tell him what we were having. I was only about 15 1/2 weeks along..but I thought we would give it a shot.. My mom works on Labor and Delivery at McKay, so we had some hook ups with Ultra Sound Machines and an OB. He told us it was ANOTHER bOY!..I was pretty surprised, but very excited. I was able to tell my dad, and we also decided that day, we would name him Jace. My dad's name is James Carl Martin, but everyone called him JC for short. So we thought Jace would be a perfect name to honor my dad. Well, my OB told us, it was definitly a boy! WaHoO! Two crazy brothers..that will be fun!..and WiLd!

I wish I could be better about calling people, but I am terrible at it, so maybe writing it once for many to see will be easier for me. I wanted to let you all know about my dad. Four months ago, he went in for surgery at the U. He had a tumor on his kidney and they were going to remove the cancerous part of the kidney. They thought that would be the least invasive route and easiest for recovery. They told us three to five days in the hospital. Well, he came out of surgery fine (like he always does. My dad has been through previous cancer and surgery to remove it and has always fought through it all.) A few days later, when they went to get him up for the first time, his surgery site started to bleed which caused all his vital signs to drop significantly. They pumped him full of fluids to keep him alive and soon after took him in for minor surgery to clot the bleeder. We were very worried about this but he came out fine again. All the fluids they pumped into his body saturated his lungs and made it almost impossible for him to breath though. After trying many options to help him breath, nothing was working good enough and they had to intubate him. That is such a hard thing to have to go through. You can't talk or eat. (which are personally my two favorite things to do) He was at the ICU in Salt lake for a month fighting to get better. My mom and I decided it would be much easier on all of us if we had him transferred to McKay Dee. There, he spent months fighting a very hard battle to get better. It seemed everything was always against him though. He kept having set backs with one thing or another and it put his progress further and further behind. The past couple weeks were very rough. He became very edemetis. I don't know how it is spelled? He had over 30 extra pounds of fluid in his body. That was putting pressure on his whole body including his organs. Nothing they gave him removed the extra fluid. The doctors told us his kidney were shutting down due to all the medications and treatments he had been recieving. We were at the end of the road and we knew there was nothing left to fight. The hardest part of this long battle, is the whole time, my dad's mind has stayed very sharp. He knows everything that is going on and he wanted to come home so bad. He still had so much to live for. I have never felt so much empathy for someone in my whole life. My sadness has always been for myself, but these past few months, I was able to feel the Savior's love for my dad and the love he must feel for all his children. I was in so much pain, not for me, but for my dad. I wanted to take his place so bad and let him be free of all the pain and sickness he was going through. Wednesday night, Dallin came up to the hospital where my mom and I had pretty much been camping out the past few days. He gave him a beautiful blessing that felt like the words were directly from God. That night, he passed away. I know he is in a better place and is free from pain, and that has been what is getting me through. But now my tears are for myself. After I got married, my dad and I began a wonderful relationship that I am so grateful for. He would take Bentley and me out to lunch and play games and watch movies with me when being a stay-at-home mom would sometimes get a little boring. He was always there for me and gave me everything I ever wanted in life. He taught me so many life lessons that I will never forget. I wish I had so much more time with him. Please appreciate the relationships you have with your parents. The hurt is so heavy when they are gone. I want to thank EVERYONE who has been so sweet and caring. I have recieved so many flowers and cards, and believe it or not, it HELPS SO MUCH!! So THANK YOU!!! If you are interested, we are having a memorial service tonight at Lindquist on Washington at 6:00 pm.

Bentley's Birthday!!

Bentley turned two years old yesterday!! (May 26th) We had a really fun day! We started with going down to the new Fat Cats in Ogden. We played the arcade games for about an hour and a half, then we ate lunch at the Pizza Factory and finished off with a game of bowling, which Bentley loved! When we got home, Bentley took a nap and I went and finished my birthday errands..getting the balloons, ice cream, Cars cake and all the Cars plates and cups that goes with it. Then Ayrion, Aubree, Ryker and his grandma's came over for cake and ice cream which was actually really tasty for a store bought cake. Cambria and her family couldn't make it b/c both her kids came down with the Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus :( And I am thinking Bentley is getting it too. He started running a fever last night and pointing to his mouth and acting like it hurt. So we will see what happens??.. I think it turned out to be a pretty good birthday for him though! If he was getting sick, he was too side tracked by all the fun and presents!!

The car rides were his favorite!

Dallin getting into his hunting game!

Bentley really liked this game too, you were suppose to try and hit the lever with your token to dump the coins out of the back. Well we were doing really good, but this little girl was waiting so we let her go and then she hits it and wins like a thousand tickets!...Whatever.. :)

Dallin claimed the all time high score on the punching bag! He looks pretty excited, huh?!

Being silly at lunch with Benny's new prizes.

Bentley didn't understand why he didn't get to play the WHOLE time! So he would get sad when it wasn't his turn..

Bentley got a WAY higher score than me!! I am using a ramp next time..

Bentley got SO many cool presents. He got a rocking horse that makes horsy noises, a new car to ride, a t-ball set up, a pretend vacuum, cars, trains, batman, buzz light year, a doodle pad, and clothes! He loved it all! Thanks family!
