Saturday, June 21st - FAMILY PICTURES!

We decided to get some family pictures done! Through the line of friends, I found Brooke Kinsey. The prettiest and BEST photographer there is. She was so good and VERY patient with us and our naughty little boy. She just posted this sneak preview of our shoot on her Blog, so I thought I would share it with all you. Isn't he cute?! I hope she can make Dallin and I look that good! Thanks Brooke!

Friday, June 20th

We busted out the Wal-Mart kiddie pool today that was stored in the garage after giving us plenty of use last summer! I watch my good friend, Elise's baby, Aiva on Friday's, so she was with us too. Boy, did we have fun. Blowing it up was a challenge though. Dallin always did it last year with his air compressor that I have no idea how to run. That thing needs more air that you'd think! So after an intense instructional conversation with Dallin and a few video messages over our phones, I figured it out!..Only to find that the top ring had been popped..but luckily, there was no other holes and still functions just fine. Maybe it's time to spring for an upgrade anyways..haha..

Isn't Summer great?!

SOME BABY NEWS...

I also had my Dr. appt. today to check on the baby and find out what it is!! Well..I actually cheated on that..On the night my dad passed away, I had a strong feeling that I wanted to tell him what we were having. I was only about 15 1/2 weeks along..but I thought we would give it a shot.. My mom works on Labor and Delivery at McKay, so we had some hook ups with Ultra Sound Machines and an OB. He told us it was ANOTHER bOY!..I was pretty surprised, but very excited. I was able to tell my dad, and we also decided that day, we would name him Jace. My dad's name is James Carl Martin, but everyone called him JC for short. So we thought Jace would be a perfect name to honor my dad. Well, my OB told us, it was definitly a boy! WaHoO! Two crazy brothers..that will be fun!..and WiLd!

I wish I could be better about calling people, but I am terrible at it, so maybe writing it once for many to see will be easier for me. I wanted to let you all know about my dad. Four months ago, he went in for surgery at the U. He had a tumor on his kidney and they were going to remove the cancerous part of the kidney. They thought that would be the least invasive route and easiest for recovery. They told us three to five days in the hospital. Well, he came out of surgery fine (like he always does. My dad has been through previous cancer and surgery to remove it and has always fought through it all.) A few days later, when they went to get him up for the first time, his surgery site started to bleed which caused all his vital signs to drop significantly. They pumped him full of fluids to keep him alive and soon after took him in for minor surgery to clot the bleeder. We were very worried about this but he came out fine again. All the fluids they pumped into his body saturated his lungs and made it almost impossible for him to breath though. After trying many options to help him breath, nothing was working good enough and they had to intubate him. That is such a hard thing to have to go through. You can't talk or eat. (which are personally my two favorite things to do) He was at the ICU in Salt lake for a month fighting to get better. My mom and I decided it would be much easier on all of us if we had him transferred to McKay Dee. There, he spent months fighting a very hard battle to get better. It seemed everything was always against him though. He kept having set backs with one thing or another and it put his progress further and further behind. The past couple weeks were very rough. He became very edemetis. I don't know how it is spelled? He had over 30 extra pounds of fluid in his body. That was putting pressure on his whole body including his organs. Nothing they gave him removed the extra fluid. The doctors told us his kidney were shutting down due to all the medications and treatments he had been recieving. We were at the end of the road and we knew there was nothing left to fight. The hardest part of this long battle, is the whole time, my dad's mind has stayed very sharp. He knows everything that is going on and he wanted to come home so bad. He still had so much to live for. I have never felt so much empathy for someone in my whole life. My sadness has always been for myself, but these past few months, I was able to feel the Savior's love for my dad and the love he must feel for all his children. I was in so much pain, not for me, but for my dad. I wanted to take his place so bad and let him be free of all the pain and sickness he was going through. Wednesday night, Dallin came up to the hospital where my mom and I had pretty much been camping out the past few days. He gave him a beautiful blessing that felt like the words were directly from God. That night, he passed away. I know he is in a better place and is free from pain, and that has been what is getting me through. But now my tears are for myself. After I got married, my dad and I began a wonderful relationship that I am so grateful for. He would take Bentley and me out to lunch and play games and watch movies with me when being a stay-at-home mom would sometimes get a little boring. He was always there for me and gave me everything I ever wanted in life. He taught me so many life lessons that I will never forget. I wish I had so much more time with him. Please appreciate the relationships you have with your parents. The hurt is so heavy when they are gone. I want to thank EVERYONE who has been so sweet and caring. I have recieved so many flowers and cards, and believe it or not, it HELPS SO MUCH!! So THANK YOU!!! If you are interested, we are having a memorial service tonight at Lindquist on Washington at 6:00 pm.

Bentley's Birthday!!

Bentley turned two years old yesterday!! (May 26th) We had a really fun day! We started with going down to the new Fat Cats in Ogden. We played the arcade games for about an hour and a half, then we ate lunch at the Pizza Factory and finished off with a game of bowling, which Bentley loved! When we got home, Bentley took a nap and I went and finished my birthday errands..getting the balloons, ice cream, Cars cake and all the Cars plates and cups that goes with it. Then Ayrion, Aubree, Ryker and his grandma's came over for cake and ice cream which was actually really tasty for a store bought cake. Cambria and her family couldn't make it b/c both her kids came down with the Hand, Foot and Mouth Virus :( And I am thinking Bentley is getting it too. He started running a fever last night and pointing to his mouth and acting like it hurt. So we will see what happens??.. I think it turned out to be a pretty good birthday for him though! If he was getting sick, he was too side tracked by all the fun and presents!!

The car rides were his favorite!

Dallin getting into his hunting game!

Bentley really liked this game too, you were suppose to try and hit the lever with your token to dump the coins out of the back. Well we were doing really good, but this little girl was waiting so we let her go and then she hits it and wins like a thousand tickets!...Whatever.. :)

Dallin claimed the all time high score on the punching bag! He looks pretty excited, huh?!

Being silly at lunch with Benny's new prizes.

Bentley didn't understand why he didn't get to play the WHOLE time! So he would get sad when it wasn't his turn..

Bentley got a WAY higher score than me!! I am using a ramp next time..

Bentley got SO many cool presents. He got a rocking horse that makes horsy noises, a new car to ride, a t-ball set up, a pretend vacuum, cars, trains, batman, buzz light year, a doodle pad, and clothes! He loved it all! Thanks family!

Family of four?..

Dallin, Bentley and I are very excited to announce we are going to have a new addition to our family!! :) I can't believe we are going to be a family of four! cRaZy!?! I had an ultrasound last night which determined I am almost 14 weeks along. She said everything looks good so far and you can already see little fingers and toes! She said "it" was already a very active baby, so I am in for some trouble.. Dallin and I decided..well I shouldn't lie... I decided that I am taking a long break after this little one if I want to survive more! I have been feeling some anxiety over having another baby and I haven't been feeling good at all, so I haven't been crazy excited..but after I saw those tiny little fingers, toes, arms, legs and that little heart beating, I became VERY excitied! I hope Bentley will be a good big brother. If Dallin lets me, maybe I will get him a little baby doll for practice :) We will find out if it's a boy or girl on June 20th..We will definitly let you know. :)

Lagoon!

Bentley, Aubrey, Ryker, Ayrion and I went to Lagoon last Saturday, we had a BLAST! We got there around 12:30 and we all rode rides till about 2:30, then Ayrion had to go get her dance teams practiced and ready to perform, so I took her kids and Bentley to ride more rides. We started to head over to the haunted house ride. I was pushing Bentley in the stroller and Aubrey and Ryker were on each side of it. We started to pass the games where you can win a big stuffed animal and I think Ryker got distracted by it, because I looked to my side and he was GONE! I knew he had to be close by b/c I just saw him 10 seconds ago! Literally! We started calling his name and we still couldn't see him. I freaked out and called Ayrion and she came running over! Aubrey told me that he really wanted to ride the boats, so we started heading over there to look for him. When we didn't see him, I thought, "I need to find Lost and Found" Well Ayrion beat me to it. She went there and someone had just turned in a lost little boy! Sure enough, it was our Ryker. That was definitly the scarriest ten minutes of my life. The rest of the time, i made them hold on to the stroller, I was so paranoid. Ryker still would get distracted when he saw a cool ride or the ducks in the pond and he would start walking over to it. I had to keep reminding him that he doesn't want to get lost again! I am going to be one of those wierdo parents that uses a dog leash for their kids! haha..It is just too scarry how fast they can disappear!
Bentley was just barely tall enough to go on all the "big kid" rides. He had so much fun. This was his first trip to Lagoon and his first ride of the day!

Aubrey says, "Lets GO already!"

The boats were Bentley's favorite ride! He cryed when the ride stopped and he had to get off!

Bentley had to ride this one by himself because there was only one joystick; and Aubrey and him were fighting over it.

There was only one problem..He held the joystick in one spot which kept him up in the air the whole time, so he got scared and started to cry..

You're gonna miss this

So I heard this song by Trace Adkins the other day, "You're Gonna Miss This" It made me take a look at my life that seems to be going by so fast. I've always been a person to look towards the future. In High School, I couldn't wait to run off to college. When I realized Dallin was the one, I couldn't wait to get married. As soon as I found out I was pregnant with Bentley, I couldn't wait for him to arrive. When our special baby boy got here, I looked forward to all the things he would do; smile, laugh, roll over, crawl, walk, talk... Those moments are so special and go by way too fast. If you know my little Bentley, you know he can throw some pretty good tantrums! I get so frustrated with him and think, "I can't wait till he outgrows this!" But after hearing this song, I know, I'M GONNA MISS THIS! I hope everyone who reads this, listens to this song (It's on my playlist) and enjoys every moment in their life!

They change so fast!

Dallin's trip to Nashville, Tennesse

Dallin had to go to a work conference this last weekend at the Grand Ol' Opry Hotel. He had a really good time! There was a waterfall INSIDE the hotel!

Dallin out on the town..

"Thank you very much!"

Thanks Mike and Cam!

So, thanks to Cam, I started a blog! She showed me how to set everything up! Her family came down and we ate some dinner outside! Yes, outside! It was 78* today! YAY! Then Mike helped Dallin with our drywall in the basement. For those of you who don't know, we had a leak in our kitchen that went down to our basement. What a mess! The kids had a good time playing together. It was a really nice visit. They helped us get a lot done! Bentley was not happy when they had to leave!
